Padma Shri Karimul Haque
Chief Advisor
Karimul Haque, known as “Bike Ambulance Dada,” is a tea garden worker from Dhalabari village in West Bengal’s Jalpaiguri district who has provided free emergency transport to thousands using his modified motorcycle.
His service began after his mother’s death in 1995 due to lack of ambulance access in remote areas, motivating him to start ferrying patients on his bike from 1998.
He upgraded it with a side trolley, oxygen cylinder, and waterproof stretcher by 2018 to better serve over 20 villages lacking roads and hospitals 40+ km away.
Haque has transported around 5,000–6,500 patients free of cost over 25+ years, earning a Bharat World Record and conducting health camps.
He funds fuel and supplies from his modest tea estate wages while offering first aid training from local doctors.
In 2017, he received India’s Padma Shri award for humanitarian service.
His story inspired a book titled “Bike Ambulance Dada” and TEDx talks, highlighting his role as a community lifeline.

He has worked in the areas of large-scale programme management, institutional strengthening, governance, monitoring & evaluation, feasibility studies, policy development, strategic visioning, organization restructuring in the social sectors.
He has extensively worked with various donor agencies like DFID, SDC, ADB, World Bank, UN agencies, Government departments and Regulators across India. He has experience of working in all low-income states and Bhutan, Papua New Guinea, South Africa, Mozambique, Tanzania, Kenya.
Mr. Bidhayak Acharyya

Born in a family of lawyers, I’m a third generation lawyer and an experienced advocate with a demonstrated history of law practice since 2012. I’m skilled in Litigation, Legal Research, Real Estate Law, Media and Entertainment Law, Corporate Law, Civil and Criminal Law, Intellectual Property, Labour Law, Family Law, ADR, Consumer Protection, Debt Recovery, Foreigners Matters and so on. I’m a Bachelor of Arts (B.A. Hons.) focused in English Language and Literature from Arya Vidyapeeth College, Guwahati and a Bachelor of Law from A.K. Chanda Law College, Silchar. I’m licensed to practice in India and other concurrent jurisdictions and generally practice before the Hon’ble Gauhati High Court and other subordinate courts, tribunals and forums in Assam as well as other NE States, West Bengal, Maharashtra and Haryana. I was a Special Public Prosecutor of the Income Tax Department, Government of India for three consecutive years. I’m a Pro Bono lawyer under the Department of Justice, Government of India and a Legal Aid Counsel appointed by the Gauhati High Court Legal Services Committee.
